Care, warranty and repairs
A diamond is hard. The setting around it needs looking after.

Diamond is the hardest natural material, but claws and settings wear over time. A few habits, and a professional inspection at least once every 12 months, keep your jewellery secure and looking its best.
Everyday care
Cleaning
Warm water, a drop of mild soap and a soft brush. Rinse and dry.
Storage
Keep pieces apart. Diamonds can scratch other stones and each other.
Inspection
Bring your piece in at least once every 12 months so our jeweller can check the setting, claws and diamonds.
Take it off
For the gym, gardening and heavy work.
Complimentary aftercare
For jewellery purchased from CTJ Jewellery:
- Complimentary ultrasonic cleaning, with a jeweller’s visual inspection under magnification.
- Polishing and rhodium plating for engagement rings purchased from CTJ, free of charge once before your wedding. Booking required.
Manufacturer’s warranty
CTJ Jewellery provides a manufacturer’s warranty covering defects in materials and workmanship for jewellery purchased from or manufactured by CTJ Jewellery.
Not covered
- General wear and tear
- Accidental damage
- Loss, theft or disappearance of jewellery or gemstones
- Damage from misuse, neglect or unauthorised alterations or repairs
- Normal wear of claws, settings or precious metals over time
Chargeable services
- Stone replacement
- Ring resizing
- Rhodium plating, outside the wedding preparation service
- Polishing
- Repairs, and restoring worn settings or claws
This warranty operates in addition to your rights under the Australian Consumer Law. Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law.
Workshop services
- Ring resizing
- Suitable for most engagement rings, wedding rings and fine jewellery. About 3 to 7 business days.
- Repairs
- Claw rebuilding, re-tipping, stone replacement, polishing, rhodium plating and chain repairs. Many are completed in 2 to 7 business days.
- Remodelling and redesign
- Inherited or unworn pieces turned into a new design, using your diamonds where suitable.
- Estimates
- Every repair is assessed and quoted before any work begins.
Returns
Custom pieces are made specifically for you and are not eligible for refund, exchange or store credit. Eligible Showroom Collection items may be returned for store credit within 14 days of delivery, unworn and in original condition, subject to a $150 restocking fee.
Change-of-mind purchases are not eligible for a refund. Resized, modified or special-order items are not eligible.
Your rights under the Australian Consumer Law are not affected.
